How to make sweet somosa
Sweet somasa
Ingredients:
Maida - 1 cup
Rawa - 1 cup
Salt - pinch
Oil and vanaspathi for deep frying
For inner Fillings:
Bengal gram(Pottu kadalai) - 1 cup
Powder sugar - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 1 cup
Cashew nut – ˝ cup
Poppy seeds – 25 gms
Cardamom powder – little
Procedure
Mix Rawa , Maida ,salt with enough water to form a thick dough.
Keep aside for half or one hour closed with wet cloth.
Mix well again to make the dough soft.
Make small balls from the Maida dough and roll it out into very thin chapatti.
Apply oil to make greased somasa mould.
Spread fillings (with Poornam) on top wet the edges and seal well.
Remove somasa from mould and deep fry in oil in reduced flame till crisp and golden.
Fillings:
Dry cashew nuts, poppy seeds and Bengal gram are under hot sun for an hour and powder separately, and mix together with powder sugar and grated coconut(fry coconut in empty pan till it get dry) and add cardamom powder .
Mix well and the filling (Poornam) is ready.
